Sprue thats a really cool build and I love the modifications. One thing I picked up from a train modelers site is that the ties could use a dark oil wash to highlight the grain and take some of the shine off. Keep that train stuff coming and thanks for showing it. Terry

yeah, that sheen is killin’ me. Thanks for the tip!

You bet. I really like your build Sprue, I wish Hobby Boss would get out more RR in 1/72.

Very nice paint work! Looks neat hitched up to the other modern rig. Can you imagine that rolling down the rails through a small mid-west town or similar? [:D]

Terry - Thanks for the compliments and yes, I’d like to build more (military) railroad stuff in 1/72 after this nice little kit.

Bill - Thanks for the comment. [:D] that would be wild, but I’d be reaching for my camera real quick [cmra]

ditto to both. and trumpeter needs a 1/35 boxcar. i saw a blurb trumpeter is coming out with a 1/35 soviet armored rail car

you could also try weathering powders or pastels to tone down the ties. if you want to do more RR stuff JIBBER and i have a GB starting in January (though both of us want to start it now)

Sorry for the delay in reply. yes, I’m going to work in some washes with flat color bases and follow with dry pastels. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, I already responded to the RXR GB with interest [I] [Y]

we’d be happy to have you.
