Songbird finished

Finished my Czech Models Cessna T-50, as Sky King’s Songbird (the original before he switched to 310. Nice kit, I liked it. Lots of interior detail. The door hinges are missing on the door for the “open” option, but I made wire ones and it worked fine.

I’d like to post an image, but do not understand how. Looks like the image must already be on line, maybe in the FSM gally

use website like www.imagefra.me to post your images online, thats the one I use

Don, the images have to be hosted on a web site like photobucket. There is a post on how to do the whole thing:

/forums/701767/ShowPost.aspx

I’d sure like to see some pics of that Songbird Don. I struggled with posting photos too, but once you figure it out it’s not too bad. 'Glad to hear that kit seems to be going over as well as it is. Hopefully it will result in some more GA kits…

Okay, I posted it to the site of a club I belong to. I think the photo gallery is open to all.

The URL is;

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mnsclmdlr/photos/album/745363841/pic/1630717079/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc

If that doesn’t work I’ll post it to my web site, but that is a lot of work (editing html, FTPing file, etc.).

When you post a link, hit the spacebar a couple times, it’ll change color, then anyone can click right on it(instead of copy/paste. (this just took me to yahoo e-mail login)

Hi Don,

Do this:

  1. Go to the area the photos are at and open one…

  2. Put the curser on the photo and right click…

  3. Select Properties

4) Highlight the URL, then right click on the blue and select Copy

5) Back to the FSM site and reply to this message…

  1. With the curser in the text window, right click and select Paste (the url will appear)

7) Now in front of that url (remove spaces) type: [ img ]

  1. At the end of the url (remove spaces) type: [ /img ]

When you’re finished, click the Post link at the bottom and the pictures will be there. Repeat this process for each picture you want to post.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing the Songbird! [:)]

Frank

Okay, lets try this!

Many thanks, Frank- that method worked fine!

The Songbird looks great, Don. Nice photo work.

Very nice job! Looks great! Dave.

“Out of the clear blue western sky comes… Don’s CESSNA!” Nice job on that one!

But umm, where’s the model? Neato build. I would like to see that in 1/72. Fine model, Don. I didn’t listen to the show, but anything to do with Paul Mantz is OK wit’ me!

Excellent work on Sky King’s model. I just received my kit. What paint colors did you use? I can only hope that my model comes out as nice as yours.

I used regular Testors enamel, white and the just plain red (the little square bottles.) I painted most of the ring around the cowls, just cut out a diamond from the decal to use the point. The Testors red matched well enough.

Living proof great looking models can be made to look like great looking REAL aircraft without spending a fortune! OUTSTANDING presentation, Don! [:D[

Take care,

Frank

Don:

What color did you use for the underside of the fuselage and wings? Or did you leave it white? The instruction sheet calls for a light gray. It is the only reference I have seen to the underside being painted this way.

I used Testors gloss grey.

Thanks Don. I have three models ready to paint and decal. Once they are complete I plan to do the Songbird.

Don,

Understanding that you invested some effort to get your photo posted I sure would love to see some more angles of this bird?

Don (Was that an echo???)[:P]
