Some Unfinished Business

thanks for the tips! i’ll try to upload the pics as soon as i weather 'em

ey Derek, nice claymore! is that real? where is it from? thanks for the mud tip!

Ganda (Beautiful)! Nice job, Gary. You could use some more mud on the 113 as you said. Hehehe. Still, those are fine works, my friend. Cant wait to see the Unimog finished.

Btw, buti your wife/girlfriend hasnt not stepped on any of your kits. My wife used to drop a lot of stuff over my stash (even though they were tucked away, go figure). Well, that was until she started building models herself.

haha! thanks allan for looking at them again.
at first, my girlfriend gives me the stare whenever i go inside a hobby store. she always tells me t"you’re buying a model kit again? you just bought yesterday? you haven’t even finished it" hahaha
but when she saw my first built, a tamiya m41 walker bulldog which is an easy build, she told me that it looks nice…and bought me an airbrush last christmas. i guess even love can’t stop the power of the darkside [}:)]

Bought you an airbrush? Youre one lucky guy, Gary. [^] The next time she scolds you for buying another kit, you can always say its model kits or the guys’ nite out. [:D][:D]

nice alibi! but it’s ok now. she’s very supportive with my hobbies.
actually we’re goin to the mall now (megamall) to look around for some models again.

Nice work garry, like what they said a little more weathering would greatly help, but overall they’re pretty fine for me.[:D] Yesterday I went to megamall. I ended up with an I-sherman. Just like you, my brother tells me models na-naman!?![(-D]

hahaha beans…thanks!
just got home…
have an M1a1 abrams from dragon…iraqi freedom with me
(it followed me home hehehe).
i can’t wait to see it finished, but i have to work on my stug first…maybe until i painted its base color then i’ll start with the abrams.

Gary & Bean,

Mga pre, just in case you didnt know AFV Club has released a 1:35 AIFV (yep, same as that Bradley-looking M-113s and same chasis as the new ARVs the Phil. Army has). Dont know if theyre already available locally, but I guess it’ll be on Lil’s shelves soon.

If you do find them at Lil’s, drop me a line, I’ll see if we can get you some discounts.

wow a discount! hehe i’ll get back on you if i see it on lil’s.
a couple of months ago, i saw the president of ipms manila chapter…(from u.p. chapter
i think) he brought this big F18 on lil’s megamall and hang it there. is that the same club as yours allan?

Gary,

You must be referring to Frank. He’s my ninong sa kasal, actually. Yes, its the same club, but we’re IPMS-Bert Anido Chapter. A lot of our members go to Lil’s stores. You mustve bumped accross a few every now and then. Maybe I could invite you to one of our meets, check the guys out.

F-18, eh? I havent seen that. Frank is such a prolific builder.

oh ok, i’m a bit shy to ask him. he looks japanese. he brought some static grass too.

anyways, i just “half finished” the camo on my unimog (just the top). i don’t have the paint “leather brown”. and i’m taking it step by step, the hard way actually. first time to do a camo. (it’s really hard) i’m “hands-up” for the modelers who can do camo schemes"

thanks for bearing with me.

here’s the link again

Getting better, pare. I can see that you already a modeloholic. He-he-he. (Like me). don’t be afraid to do camo schemes. Practice on pieces of plastic until you feel you are getting it. Good luck.

hehehe Dwight. yup i guess i’m a modeloholic too, like you and the rest here. lol
thanks for visiting it again. sorry i have to put it on link, i dunno how to post it here. all i got were x’s.

I always make it a point to check the sites of the members because I really enjoy looking at the models. If you have time please visit my site by clicking the Web Icon under my signature and you can give me suggestions on how I can improve my works.

Regards,

thanks for the link Dwight! actually i saw it already while i’m still a snap together hehehe. i really admire ur work and i don’t know any suggestions right now. i should be the one asking for suggestions from you! hehehehe

Garry: Cool stug III. Are you going to do it in a camo scheme?

Thanks Dwight!
yup am gonna do a camo scheme, it says on the instructions that it uses an olive green and desert yellow colors, with the dots. i know you know what i’m talking about hehehe. is this scheme correct? i really have doubts on the kit’s instructions.

and i hav to buy an air compressor, canned air is really putting a halt on my builds.

I’ll check my refs on the camo schemes and I’ll try to let you know tomorrow.

Check National Bookstore. Last time I saw they had a good sized compressor on sale. I use the Tamiya Basic Airbrush & Compressor Set. Not so strong but quite handy and less-noisy.

i saw a compressor at ace hardware and it’s priced at 3,800. it’s a kawasaki oil-less compressor 25-35 psi. am not sure if it’s good but i’ll try with my airbrush before buying it (if they let me). i don’t know what’s an oil-less compressor either.

the tamiya basic airbrush is the one with the rechargeable battery right?
it gets the job done pretty good! u got nice models! your airbrush is “basic” but you’re a pro! hehehe

Garry: Yep it’s real, avaliable through scottishquality.com for a mere $963.67 US! No I don’t have one, it’s about $750 out of my budget!.
