Part A26 won’t fit into B3 no matter how I hard I try! It always worked with Lincoln Logs in the past. I would be doing my George Burns imitation and then cram one log into another. Hammering worked quite well. But this tank thingy won’t go together. Repeatedly stabbing it with my modeling knife and drenching it in modeling glue isn’t working either. I sure hope I didn’t mix the wrong parts!! Maybe this 88MM gun on my Stuart is a wrong thing.
How am I going to grow up to be just like Shermanfreak when I keep messing up this model? Any tips for a hairy backed model building wannabe?
Hi, Hiram!
It “won’t go together?”
Stop stabbin’ and drenchin’, and start looking at the instruction sheet (slowly, carefully, and repeatedly) and dryfitting.
THEN start the stabbin’ and drenchin’! It should fall right together!
The 88 should be just fine on the Stuart![;)] (Or would that be the other way around?)
After looking over the instructions carefully, fully determine if part A26 is truley required. If determined not to be, toss it over your right sholder and proceed to next step.
You know what they say. “If all else fails, read the instructions”. Then chuck the instructions away because a drawing of the dislocated parts and a couple of vague arrows are as much use as a chocolate fireguard!! Better you do as many dry runs as you need, refering to photos and GOOD drawings as necessary, until you are satisfied it is in the right place and fits correctly, THEN drench everything in sight!! [:D]
First off why are you using part A26 from that kit anyway. The detail is clearly inaccurate. What you should do is scratch build a new one. If your skills are not up to the task you could always kit bash part C13 from that other Stuart kit, but remember to shave off those two extra rivets.
My Lee was shiny after a painting and now it’s alot lighter. I wanted Flat not shiny!!
I wanted to do a desert sand thingy but it has too much cat hair on it. I suspect my tom cat has been making sweet kitty love to my tanks when they are drying. Perhaps I’ll weather with cat poo.
Now what a minute you said you were building a Staurt. If your building a Lee I need you to know something. The 88mm is not for going into the Lee but for taking them out.
Where in NJ are you from? I lived in Mt. Holly (Exit 5 on NJ Turnpike) for many years. Most of my family is still there.
I’m currently playing a CMAK game vs a friend. This Combat Mission game has my forces with Lees, Stuarts, and Cromwells vs Panzers III, and IV. I’m spanking his bottom relentlessly. Yes, I know he had a single 88MM Flak gun, I’d be hurting.
