Some general venting.....

I’ve had this P-40b sitting on my work table for…hmm…almost a year now. It’s nothing spectacular, 1/32nd scale, not a ton of detail. It’s pretty much done except for the last bits of detailing.

Which of course…are the window frames on the cockpit glass…

I haven’t touched it for almost 3 months. I go down there, sit down, stare at it…and just walk away. This last weekend I took another shot at it. I masked the canopy with clear tape, and cut away the tape over the frames. Than, brush painted the frames with one of those free micro brushes that came in last months FSM.

It seems to have worked ‘ok’.

It’s driving me crazy. I could just finish it without the frames being painted…but I’ve got tons of kits from my childhood that are like that. I don’t need any more of them. I’m too stubborn or stupid to quit.

I guess I have to learn a little patience. It’s only been about two years now that I’ve been back in the hobby after about a 10 year layoff.

Well, if it looks OK, leave it! Display it, even! Some of the best kits are the ones that never were completed! Kinda like how the best fishing stories are always about the “Ones that got away…”?

HEY,
I DIDNT GET A FREE MICROBRUSH!

The freebies only come with the ones you buy at the bookstore, we lowly subscribers are not worthy of the honor…

There’s an explanation why freebies (promotional items) are not included in subscription copies. Here’s the official response.

I know, I was just joking

Yeah Gary,
I do that too - the bits that I think are going to be hard I tend to put off.
Sometimes for months - then I actually sit down and do it, and usually find it takes no time at all to get right.
Silly isn’t it?

[%-)] I purchased that issue at Barnes & Nobel. It did not have the Brushes with it. As a matter of fact it wasn’t in a plastic wrapper. All of them on the shelf had no brushes or wrapper. I also checked at the grocery store and there they did have the brushes and plastic wrapper. [:(!]

That’s because I beat you to Borders and ripped the plastic wrapping off all the issues of FSM and absconded with the free samples. I now have a lifetime supply of Microbrushes…hee hee![:D]

Now you know to buy them at the grocery store! (Sorry, grocery worker here…) [:D]
