So I got a gift certificate for my b-day...now...how to spend it.....

I got it from my Dad…for our local hobby store for $50!!! WOOOOT!

Now I just have to decide how to spend it!!! I’m tempted to spend it on tools…although…at the same time…I could get a couple of good kits (or one monster one!)…aaarrgghhh…

It’s kinda funny cuz’ I always get my dad a gift certificate for his b-day or fathers day…

So…if YOU had $50 to spend at a hobby store…what would you spend it on?

Ohhhh the dilema! To…many…choices…AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!
I honestly would have the same problem.

Send the money to me for safe-keeping. Seriously, some top-notch supplies, good brushes, etc. would be a way to spend a windfall.

Yah, I’ve been going the supplies route in my head all day today.

I would go with supplies. I have two dozen unbuilt kits sitting around, and even though there are many more I’d like to get, I’d just spend the money on a new pair of side-cutters, glue, paint, save the rest. You never know when something will come along that you REALLY want and wish you’d saved that money for. [:)]

if your having trouble, just send it to me…

I would get some tools that I didn’t have, and stock up on some more 1/72 kits.

many suggestions circle in my mind. supplies are always a good idea, but then again i do know some wonderful kits you could purchase.

oh…i had better just let you choose. i can honestly say you have a great choice to make.

I used to get $50 to t LHS when I was in High school and walked by it several days a week. The owner let me treat it it a debit account. Need paint or a book, whatever. As it neared expiration, I’d pick up a kit or two.

simple: badger 100Sg: around $50. then skimp out on tools [;)] nah, spend all you need to, tools, kits, the whole store, etc. buy everything you can.

The administration at the college I teach at has an oxymoronic phrase that perfectly covers this situation:
“This is a good problem to have.”[:o)]

Seriously though, I’d split it between tools and kits.[:)]

Happy Birthday, I would split it between tools and maybe a kit.

I guess it really depends on what you have or rather don’t have. If you need some tools, now may be the time to get them. It’s hard to build without the proper necessities. I would opt for a kit myself, even though Idon’t need one at the moment. Or perhaps some AM or PE parts for a particular kit I own. Personally, nothing like ripping a lid off a new model. [:D]

Good one Dad!!! What a guy.
Don’t go for the kit…get some sort of tool that you’ve always wanted to try but have never had the opportunity…like an LMG polishing kit, Alclad ll, a motor tool, that special airbrush…whatever grabs you.

hehe, I really like that, I’ll have to use it from now. [:)]

I vote for tools too!
See what you are missing in that department and go for it.
But if you are thinking of a kit, I would go for the new 1/72 submarine by revel, just know i will built it someday!
