So you wonder whats in a 59 year old kit and i can tell you 2 sealed bags of loose bits with clear parts floating around unprotected with them , o and the normal yellowing decals and poor instructions without a word of english on them lol let the fun begin
quite a few sink marks had to sort in the pit , no hole what so ever for control stick and the navigator refused to sit lol gentle heat sorted it out better even though we wont see him when its closed up , started adding some scratch details seat pads and radio , still w.i.p going to add more , no idea what colours the crew uniforms are lol
to add to the hastle i ordered these from china who knows when they turn up , be a first for me so should add some fun to it if it works out
A very interesting and noteworthy build sir. I’m very curious to see the final product!
Toshi
cheers mate will keep you posted
This is a cool looking aircraft and I’m interested to see what you do with it. I have a 1/72 Walrus but stalled out on the top wing assembly, never having done a double winger before, even though my instructions are in English.
Delightful project. I’ve always liked flying boats no matter the time frame or nationality. I’ll be following your build with great interest.
RE: Flight crew uniform colors (or, colours, if you prefer):
Here are a couple links that you probably already know about but might prove of some help:
cheers mate bi planes are fun you should give it a go
cheers mate and thanks link is a great help for this build and future ones
thats the little chaps painted 1 is a Amputee as his foot is missing , weathered the pit added note pad and pencil and made harness out of pot noodle lid
Bringing back nightmares, FtF. Looking good so far. Like the idea of the paper and pencil! Wish I’d done that.
lol prob wont see it when its closed up
Someone likes a challenge. Nice start. I normally find stuff i buy on e-bay from China takes 2 weeks tops.
lol thanks mate , 2 weeks would be great fingers crossed
not much cave time today , started scratch on engine to make it more interesting drilled holes and added wires and added pipes on other side still w.i.p
first stage of the engine done painted it today and started scratch building interior other side to do next
That side now painted up in Alclad ALCE012 British Interior Grey-Green and weathered , start the scratch on the other half now
other side done , dry fit everythings vanished lol cant glue halfs till the motor arrives need to work out were to hide wires lol
“He’s here, he’s there, he’s every flipping where, Fred The Foot, Fred The Foot!”
Nice work so far on that oldie…but it’s a great challenge trying to make a silk purse from a Pigs ear, makes the build a little more interesting.
Have fun with it mate.
Cheers,
Martin aka International British Modeler! [:P]
