Sky Kings UC-78 "Songbird"

Hi guys !

Being a child of the 50’s I want to build Sky Kings UC-78 “Song Bird”

I have the 1/72 scale UC-78 kit. Thats the scale I work in.

Any ideas/suggestions on decals…primarily the “flying crown”…the “N” numbers and pin stripe are easy to replicate.

Wow what a flashback of nostalgia. I fondly remember that show and as a kid watched every episode. I tend to build kits I’ve seen on TV as well. looking forward to your WIP if you post one.

I am still searching for the Howard Hugh’s Racer that I viewed in the movie " The Aviator". I did find and build the Spruce Goose and it was a blast.

There is a 1:48 kit of that, with Sky King decals. You could build that, copying the decals before using them, then build the 1:72 version, shrink the decals in a photo editing program and print on inkjet decal stock.
