| I just picked up a Sierra Scale Models Vac form Moarine Saulinier type N in 1/48 scale on echo bay.It is a nice kit with white metal parts, which includes the Le Rhone engine and Lewis guns. Not a bad deal for 5 bucks!Does anyone know anything about the Sierra Scale Model company? The kit seems a little old(The instructions are a little yellowed).Any info would be appreciated. |

Here is a link to their website, but it looks to me like nowdays they specialize in model railroad stuff.
Back in the 80’s when Sierra Scale was based in California they were doing several good aircraft kits. The priciples are getting older and tired now, have relocated and are not developing anything new. They still keep the old molds active though.
Thanks Swanny!I figured they may have been out of business because the kit looked old and I have never heard of them before. The link you provided does not mention aircraft kits .
He gave you the wrong link, try this http://sierrascale.home.insightbb.com/
Sorry about the wrong link, I didn’t realize there were two companies called Sierra Scale Models [:O]
| Thanks again swanny! That corrrected link was the one.I only hope that my Morane can compare to the pic on the site. She did a great job on it!I plan to paint it similar to the Eduard kit that was reviewed in the May 2005 FSM. |
