Revell “G”, converted the tail. Markings and canopy are wrong for the F, but whatever!
This has got to be one of my all time favorite Revell builds!
…and that is all…til I build another Revellogram!

Great looking builds…I really like the 410, and the PBY. Again it just shows that these kits are hidden gems and can really shine with the right hand to polish them.
Of course we could also say it’s not the kit that makes the modeler but the modeler that makes the kit.[;)]
Indeed it is… the modelers hand, eye, and mindset determine it all.
well this one has to be the best aircraft kit I have ever built. Revell’s 1/32 Hawker Hunter. The molding, engineering, fit, detailing, etc., is just superb. If you like large scale jet planes, this is a kit not to be missed. Since I had to leave this one behind overseas, I picked up a replacement recently from Ebay.
Ouch - that’s like leaving a child behind! No love from MATS I guess?
Well, I built my kits there in the frame of mind that they would not be coming home with me. One of the reasons that I went with large scale planes there was because I knew that I would not have to worry about storage space for them in my home after wards. And I wanted to try my hand on many of those big old Revell planes that I had built in grade school. I was pleasantly surprised to see what those kits had to offer in them. Although many of the interior details are soft or spartan, the exteriors are nice and they are a great canvas for add on work, either AM or scratch built.
The beautiful old Cobra re issued under the Monogram label is a perfect case. New parts added to spruce it up, but the interior really needs a dress up to make it sparkle under all that canopy.
I’ve enjoyed looking at the photos of all the RevellOGram builds posted on this thread. Proof positive that it’s the more the modeler than the kit that makes the difference! I may be able to make a modest contribution or two after this weekend. I was with the wife (She Who Must Be Obeyed) shopping last night and the craft/hobby store she was in had a bunch of their models on sale. Must have been trying to clear out some of their Christmas inventory. Anyway, the prices were so good that I picked up 4 of the old Revell 1/48 kits to do up as quick and dirty builds, something to use to give myself a little instant gratification as opposed to the highly detailed kits that take months for me to finish with my limited bench time. I also thought they’d be great to practice and hone my skills on for such things as pre-shading, weathering, maybe a little bit of scratch building, since a failed experiment on a kit you paid $5.00 or so for isn’t the disaster it is with a $50.00 kit for which you bought another $50.00 to $100.00 worth of after market for. I’m going to try to get to one of them this weekend, maybe the P-40, and if it turns out half way decent I’ll try to post some picts of my own.

Well, this one is the last of my finished R/M kits. At least for now. There are two more on the assembly line currently. Monograms 1980’s vintage 1/48 F-8E. A real nice kit to build. I had more issues with the expensive Cutting Edge AM decals than with the kit. And she did take 1st place in the Advanced Category at this months IPMS Chapter contest, so it’s all good!

Oh my- now there’s a kit I built several times in my teens. Then as now I simply love that bird and have found myself longingly looking at them upon the shelves. I guess I’ll continue to do that until I simply break down and build another all these years later. But I really like your Navy version and while I’m not exactly sheltered I don’t recall ever seeing one in that livery?

I have two more monogram UH-1’s under construction…
I’ll be using the Hobby World narrow main rotors again on one of the current builds along with the bell mouth intake and I forgot to mention that I used the earlier style intake with the Army UH-1B I posted .
Fireball Modelworks supplied the Navy Seawolves decals , I built four 1/72 scale versions and now I’m doing four more in 1/48 . I added Cobra Co. resin armored seats and I cut the cockpit doors from one Huey as some of them operated without the doors fitted .
I really would love to do a USMC ‘Echo’ version but I have struggled so far trying to scratch build a TK2 machine gun set up , even though I have over a dozen different images of the gun arrangement .
Hopfully one day I’ll figure it out , just gotta have a Marines gunship !!!

Ahhhhhhhhh, that’s how you did the B gunship. I was thinkingmaybe you combined one of the older Huey kits with a new one. Very nice!
I just finished this today. It’s the classic Monogram FW-190. First build I’ve completed in over 10 years. It’s a fictional machine. Built for the fun of it. Great kit. Took me right back to childhood. Totally OOB except for brass cannon barrels. I made plenty of mistakes but learned from each one of them. Can’t wait to finish another.
