I am about to travel for my job (software engineer) today from west of Houston to Irving, Texas. I did a search for shops in the area, and found a short list. When I looked up the address on Google Earth, one turned out to be a dilapidated auto repair shop, and the other was a personal residence. Anyone familiar enough with the area immediately in and around Irving to know if there are any shops still in operation?
I know about the Hobby Town in Plano and near the SMU campus, as well as a couple of others, but unfortunately this is a short trip where I won’t have time to venture away from the Irving convention center for the AI conference I’m attending tomorrow. If I get into town early enough today (4+ hour drive ahead of me), I may have time to get to one of these places but hopefully there is a shop much closer than SMU, Plano, Arlington, or Lewisville.
