also got the canopy parts cleaned up and dipped in future.

Nice job thus far. Keep those pics coming!

This is a pretty good kit and you should enjoy building it. I built the 1/72 version of this Tamiya kit and it came out well. Oddly enough, you might want to hang onto the box. Tamiya switched the box art from the in-flight painting that you have to a more sedate ground scene which appears on the current release. Also the Shinden and Shiden were two distinctly different aircraft. The Shiden was a conventional fighter derived from the Kyofu (Rex) floatplane and the Shinden was an unconventional six-bladed pusher-prop design featuring canards.

Good work so far. Keep us posted.

testor model master ijn green.

another progress pic of the shiden.

let me know what you guys think about the paint chipping effect.

i tried not to over do it.

Invertman…I think it looks great so far. I think you achieved your goal of not going overboard with the chipping/ A flat cote and it will be perfection!

thanks mucker,

its the first time i tried this effect.

i will be applying the flat tomorrow.

Great masking job on the canopy.

Sometimes those can be a real pain, but you got a winner there.

I like it alot. Nice chipping, not to overdone.
