I have reached an impasse’ in the construction of the Verlinden
Sherman M-1 Dozer Blade. Can somebody recommend a source of photos/drawings of the tripod assembly (Step 4 of the assembly sequence) so that I may crosscheck what the instructions depict with the real thing.
First of all Nedd … a hearty welcome to FSM.
I just completed the Verlinden Dozer a few short months ago and I must admit the step that you are at is probably the most “fussy” step of the whole kit. I do have some reference shots sent to me by a friend of a surviving Dozer. I will not be able to post them until a little later when I have them uploaded to my host. In the meantime, here is a pic of my completed Dozer … I’m not sure if it will help any or not.

The center bar that runs from the blade up through the armour plate has not been added in this pic yet.
OK Nedd … here’s 4 pics of the real thing

If you still have problems or anymore questions send me an e-mail.
Many thanks for the dozer blade photos–they are a great help. I wonder why Mr. Verlinden doesn’t depict the cable running down the top of each blade arm? Where do they hook up underneath the armor covering of the tripod assembly? Again-thanks. Nedd
Unfortunately Nedd … my references ended there as far as the cables go. So I just built what I saw and ran them up under the armour plate.
Thanks again for your input Shermanfreak. I think I have enough info to proceed with construction. Nedd
