Shelf Life of acrylics ?

Just wondering if anyone knows (generally) the Shelf - Life of basic acrlic paint is [?]
Got some 2 years or older paints? Or when you have thrown out those old paints beacuse they were just not holding up anymore [;)]
Assuming normal conditions (stored inside at room temp.)

I have experience with Tamiya acrylics, Model Master (old formula), Poly-S/ Poly-Scale) and I have noticed a shelf life of over 2 years+. The Tamiya paints I own, some of which are more than 5 years old, and still spray and brush paint nearly like new. What are others experiences?

Well I have found some 11/2 to 2 year old Testors (the old square bottles) and the appear to be ok however most colors in the pack have sepreated pretty good [(-D]

I’ve had some bottles of tamiya for about a year and a half by now, and they seem fine. I have some bottles of Citadel colours that I’ve had for 3+ years.

I dont know about acrylics but I have 6-7 year old humbrol enamels that I stir with a toothpick and spray np.

I find the shelf life of enamels exceeds that of acrylics. Once opened, acrylics should last 2-3 years at least, but enamels will last much longer.

I’ve got some acrylics from 3 years ago, I started stocking up LONG before I ever got back into modelling, and they are just fine.

I’ve also got some Tamiya acrylics over 3 years old and with a good stir they are no problem at all.
