Seawolves UH-1B Trumpeter

Tinkering away with the new Trumpeter 1/35 UH-1B. Not 100% on livery yet but at this stage Vietnam Navy HA(L)-3 bird.

This is a really great kit in terms of detail and accuracy especially the interior. There are numerous issues/frustrations however with injection marks in really silly places but that is all a part of modelling sometimes. I am enjoying it so far.

Going to be mostly out of box build but have I have had a Quinta IP panel/seat belts detail set for the Academy C model in my possession for a while and thought I’d modify it for this kit.

I’ve been using SMS paints for the interior - Dark Gull Grey, the early Olive Drab FS33070, the later shade OD, as well as SMS brown, black and white washes. I find these paints amazing, and my old Badger 150 airbrush still going strong.

Scratch built map lights.

Really accurate kit details, only did some minor surgery to the smaller links/dampers to make them not stick out so much. The whole system is currently just basically ‘snapped’ together which is an impressive touch for the kit, especially since I disassembled and reassembled a few times whilst painting. No glue used yet but will need it on a couple of spots.

As far as colours - I am trying to match the early B-model factory colours with the gold/grey and silver contrasts. I am yet to weather completely but coming along.

Such fantastic details there- in particular I like the way you have weathered the cabin to show that its been used- wonderful to look at.

This is really looking good and coming along very well. The detail of the parts is great.

Brilliant work! I can’t believe the level of detail on the instrument panels. Only in my dreams could I hope to duplicate that effort.
