I am new to detailing model aircraft and I would like ya fellas as to your ideas of how to make seatbelts for WW2 aircraft.
I make them out of the foil that comes on the top of wine bottles. On my website there are two aircraft builds that I focus on seatbelts for a few - those are the Axis RS.14 build and the Axis Fw-200 build page 1.
If you don’t drink wine, you can cut an old tooth paste or linament tube. Before I became sophisticated, I used plain old masking tape and thin electrical wire for the buckles, painted them and put em in. Nowadays, I go with the photo etched aftermarket stuff, because I can afford it now, and it saves me a lot of time. The PE stuff is exactly to scale and is pretty much mistake proof (as far as belts are concerned). either way, you can get pleasing an reasonably accurate results.

The best way is to go to www.squadron.com and find a set of Eduard photoetched seatbelts specifically made for the model you’re building. No muss, no fuss.
