I just acquired an old Revell/Lodela 1/32 kit of a DeHavilland Mosquito. It clearly reflects the old technology in which it was molded. I want to detail it and was wondering if anyone makes a 1/32 scale resin RR Merlin engine. I would have thought what with all those Spitfires flying around that someone would make a decent detailed Merlin in 1/32 but I have had no luck finding one on the web. I will probably need to scratchbuild the front office and the bombardier’s station in the nose. Any suggestions?[proplr]
Try entering ‘Spitfire’ in your search. There are many AM resin Merlin engines in 1/32 scale.
Another helpful item would be to purchase a Tamiya 1/48 scale Mosquito for detail references. My 1/24 scale Airfix Mosquito is 3000 miles away, a scan of the instructions showing the areas you want to detail would be a excellent reference for your build.
I believe the 1/24 scale kit has 230+ steps in the instructions. The Merlin engines are kits in themselves!
