Seaking Spiralschnauze

Luftwaffe’rs have a love-hate relationship with those spiral spinners. Since 99.9% of Bf-109’s seem to have had a white clock-wise running spiral on a black spinner, we have lots of good decals for them. So, (of course) I realize halfway through the build that “my” pilot was a non conformist with a counter-clockwise black spiral on a white spinner. AAAUGH!!! I found Cutting Edge sold out of spirals ( #'s CED48049 / 48050 ) Does anyone out there have any great ideas to get me out of this ? I’m about ready to build a tank instead. [banghead]

If you have a scanner & imaging software, you can print a template for a mask. Scan the decal that most closely matches the spiral you want, and flip it horizontally with the imaging software. (If you don’t have software, cut the spiral out & use the backside.) You can carefully cut it out with a sharp #11 blade, trace its outline to masking tape, and apply. It may be easier to paint the spinner white, apply the mask, and then spray the black.
Hope this helps.

Thanx Pix, I bet that “Mr. Luftwaffe” would be the first to help. Unfortunatly, my U.S. Army issue computer only has 2.5 braincells, & can barely speak English. So…if I flip a spiral upside-down on the back of a black decal sheet, it should work…right? Crossing fingers.

OK, forget that idea, it does’nt work. Decal slivered into frags. (to tight on the spiral tip) Any other ideas? Pix: what’s up with the tape? Anybody else have a secret weapon? By the way, takin a break from the deamon 109, I was nursen my frustrations on a cold one an noticed our Jack Russel Terrier “nose-down” in her chow bowl. She has a black counter-clockwise spiral around her butt. Is this a bad omen or what??[%-)]
