Thanks for the info in interior colors! And the half track is beautiful! i love the paint chips! What is the correct camo for the afica corps? mustard or a lighter sand and did they incorporate the red and green or was that later during the war after they run out of the field gray?

Very nice Derik keep up the great work[8D]

k, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t see the pics. I tried linking to them directly, and it’s telling me that the pics are no longer there…

stipp: My apologies for not responding sooner. The DAK (Dueschtes Afrika Korps) originally had grey vehicles but they were quickly overpainted with Sandgelb (sand yellow), either completely or with some grey left showing through in a disruptive pattern.

More pics!

The hull halves were hard to line up but I persevered.
I started at the rearmost plate on the left side and glued that ONE plate, after that had set I used Ambroid Pro Weld (This stuff wicks right into the seam.) on the next plate foreward and allowed it to run down the inside of the joint and held it while it set. Once this was dry I ran some down the inside of the front plate from the front again holding until set.
Then came the hard part. Starting at the right rear I followed the same procedure but had to push the parts in place as the lower hull panel edges were slightly narrower than the upper edges.
The final step was gluing the rear plate. It is important to leave this to last to allow the lower hull to flex.

Derek, thanks for posting new pics. Somehow, I missed this post the first few times around. Sorry to be so slow with the accolades! (Which you richly deserve!) Anyway, I can’t see any of the earlier pics either. I assume they have been either moved or removed from Ron’s site.

Where did you find Pro Weld? I love that stuff, especially when I’m gluing abs to styrene, which doesn’t happen often. It makes a super strong bind! But I haven’t seen it for years. My bottle is just about gone.

Nice work, as always!

my, you HAVE been busy!
keep up the good work.

dead link here for some reason [;)]

woops there it is ! Nice work , Iike that model of 250 , pretty kool ! [8D]

Hey no problem with the response! That is a Tamiya kit? I have the same one done 20 yrs ago. The tracks were a bit tricky for a 15 yr old back then! great pics of a great favorite! Keep up the great work and thanks!

Thanks all, will check Ron’s site in the during the day (it’s 1 AM here) and see if I can find them.

Bill: I got the pro weld at Hobby Lobby. Do you have one around?

Looking real good Derek. Can;t wait to see it finished.

Matt

sorry to hear of spotty work situation.
glad to hear you are making the best of it!
keep plugging.

Sorry about the work bit, Derek. That’s a real bummer! At least your making something good come out of it! (Looks like lots of "something good"s.

Nope, no Hobby Lobby here. There is one where my sister lives. Maybe I can talk her into seeing if they have any ProWeld there. Thanks a bunch.
