I’ve gone ahead and airbrushed the interior of my Sd.Kfz.222 white. What I want to know though, is what colour would the insides of the hatch doors be, Panzer Grey or white? I’m intendin’ on a Dunkelgelb finish on the exterior, by the way! Cheers! [%-)]
I had some interior shots of the 222 at home. Let me see if I can scrounge them up for you tonight and get you an answer
The interior walls should be painted Elfenbein (Ivory, RAL 1001), not white.
The floor, gun pedestal and most of the other parts are painted Grey-Green RAL 7008.
Early vehicles and the occasional factory oddball would have the hull doors painted Elfenbein, as this example is painted. It was soon discovered that this would compromise the camouflage and the doors were then painted the same color as the exterior. The steering wheel, various knobs, vision blocks and elevation/traverse wheels were painted black.
