Sd.Kfz. 165 Hummel *wip* Calling it done on to DIO build

She’s looking sweet. Learn to love the indy’s Bob, learn to love the indy’s.

Doc…I will try to be one with the indys

Montra for the day:

love the indys…love the indys…love the indys

Ok I may be good now…LOL

I’m slow to embrace the indies myself. Love them or hate them.

These are actually molded a little better than the KT links were. So Im am going to give it a go and see, Plus I dont have the cash for MK right now.

Bob

You’re moving right along, Bob.

The roadwheels look nice, I’m glad that the Shadow Brown worked out for you.

There’s a pretty good chance that they will be at your door step on Monday.

Rick

Thanks Rick, I appreciate it. Took everything you said at the show and put it to work. So far I am happy with the results. Please keep the feedback coming Oh learned one, you are the master I am but the humble student [bow]

Oh boy…Monday is happy package day. I will have to do my MIG dance…LOL

Bob

Nice going so far, Bob.

That interior’s looking nice!

I got the “MIG care package” a while back from Adam Wilder, and they have some great stuff–you’re going to love it, and your modeling will go up a notch just from using their great stuff!

Doog I agree 100%. For some reason I never used oils [banghead], which was a foolish decision. After talking with the guys and the talk I had with Rick at the show I figured let me give it a shot with some oils. After the first use I was SOLD!. I cant wait to start using the pigments. The finish is night and day from just a dry brush and enamal or acrylic wash. Details just BURST out and gives awsome depth.

Bob

Nice looking interior and love the painting/weathering so far.

Rob

Thanks Scratch. Here is a couple dof more with the road wheels in place and some weatherng on the cannon.

Ill have some more assembly shots later today. Cant wait for the Monday MIG package [:)]

Bob

Ok fenders are now attached and the front armor plating, I broke one of the headlamps (my bratwurst size fingers got in the way) and Ill repair that shortly…enjoy

Bob

Your shading look great Bob.[tup]

Tony the Mutt

Thanks Tony, and your build is looking spectacular my friend.

Bob

OK so today was the light mud streaking effect. Took a couple of shots of where Im at. Ill am going back and forth between tracks and weathering so some pics may be slow in coming.

\

More weathering to follow, all comments welcome as always.

Bob

Great looking Hummel Bob!

I really like how you broke up the 1 tone camo with the weathering. [tup]

Thanks lbro, I appreciate it.

Bob

Making good progress Bob, the only suggestion I would have is to dry to break-up or vary the streaking on the hull side. You may be already planning to do that and if so, my apologies for jumping the gun. [;)]

No worries wbill, have already dusted everthing with some MIG europe dust and used the MIG fixer. It toned it down and gave a nice effect. Ill post some pics later this evening.

Bob

OK some more shots of added little tidbits of stuff. Still got a ways to go.

Getting Hans ready

Stuff

Thanks for looking and more shots on the way.

Bob

Bob you old Plane Thief!

You have some figgy painting skills! Looks great Bubba! I love the map did you scale it down and print it out? Did you age it with coffee?
