Scratchbuilt Lake LA-4 Buccaneer 1/48.

To get the URL, open your image, put the curser on it and right click, then select “Properties”… highlight and copy the URL

The URL to your image is: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_zJngMSPw5Ro/SxmlR_OnvsI/AAAAAAAAAjU/Ibf9lB0iYDQ/s640/Model%20Pics%202%20005.jpg

Put the image tags at the front and back of said URL, but be sure to include the slash “/” before “img” in the second one. [ img] opens the command, and [ /img] closes it. (Like John stated, don’t leave spaces)

I’ll try to fix it by adding the / to the second [ img] as in [ /img] remember no spaces after the [

Wrong url, that url takes you to the Picasaweb page that the picture is displayed on. However, it does result in a clickable link to that page, so if you wanted to post a link instead of an image that is a way to do it. The actual link to the image itself is:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_zJngMSPw5Ro/SxmlR_OnvsI/AAAAAAAAAjU/Ibf9lB0iYDQ/s720/Model%20Pics%202%20005.jpg

which I found as Frank said by right clicking on the photo, selecting properties in the box that opens in Windows, and then I used ctrl C to copy the new url.

the new url is [**_**img]http://lh4.ggpht.com/_zJngMSPw5Ro/SxmlR_OnvsI/AAAAAAAAAjU/Ibf9lB0iYDQ/s720/Model%20Pics%202%20005.jpg[**_**/img]

Remember to take out the spaces after the[ which I have highlighted like this**_**. I have to place them there or that text will not be displayed, instead a blank picture will be displayed instead of my text. And here is the same text without the spaces:

And wow, that is one super scratchbuild. Very, very, well done, and very accurate, at least compared to what I remember the airplane looks like and I’ve been around them more than a little.

Absolutely, a beautiful Buccaneer!!

One of the first pictures I ever saw of a Buccaneer was a publicity shot of it anchored in some lake with the pilot fishing… I think it was in an old Flying magazine. Talk about a fantasy generator!

Outstanding scratchbuild and thanks for showing it off! [:)]

Take care,

Frank

Thanks for the helpful info on posting photos! I will try again soon! Thanks also for the accolades! I do have a copy of that same issue of Flying with the Buccaneer on the cover,…came in handy for details! I first saw this plane in an advertisement for the Berkely (Colonial Skimmer), wood model in an American Modeler magazine when I was a kid, and fell in love with it. After 40+ years of modelling, and 25 working in the automotive mold and fabrication field, I finally had the confidence, and skills to give scratchbuilding a shot. After awhile, I got it into my head that if something is not available in a kit,…make it yourself! I have other projects in the works for the near future,…Aeronca C.3 1/48,…Culver “V” 1/48,…and Grumman Kitten 1/48. Will try posting some other scratchbuilt/conversions that I’ve built. Thanks again! Dave.

Thank you for the help, and kind words! I will be trying it again soon! Cheers! Dave.

New problem,…When I post the url, and add the ,…the url is in blue, the is in black,…when I post, only the blue url appears. Any ideas?

I would need to see the text, not enough info there to troubleshoot.

The url will attach in blue, but the img open tags at the front and rear of the url, stay black, and do not attach when I post. (they didn’t even appear in my last trouble shooting post. It sort of looks like everything must attach blue or it will not work. Dave.

The image tag for a link, if that is what you are trying to do, is url, not img. The easiest way to do a link is to use the chain link symbol to the left of the smiley icon. First type in your url, no tags, highlight it, then that chain link will become active and you can click it. A window will open and you put in the url in that window.

I’ll try the url tag here, though:

Here is what I will type, with a _ added inside the tags so they will not be active:

[_url]http://yolo.net/~jeaton/Propplanes/c45/c45.htm[_/url]

Yes, it works fine with the url tags.

http://yolo.net/~jeaton/Propplanes/c45/c45.htm

Gave it a try,…When I clicked on insert, an Internet Explorer script error pops up saying: ‘childNodes’ is null or not an object…I’m stumped! Dave.

I’m using Firefox. The url tag method should work in either browser, it is html code. Try that.

Within the next 10 days, I will have 2 computer pros over for the holidays, Hopefully we’ll figure it out! Dave.

I figured it out! After a half hour,…we just did a right click on the picture itself, and pasted it in the message…it worked! More to come. Dave.
