How would you make a 1/35 scale, or close to that, 55 gallon drum or other similar fuel barrel. Im thinking of cutting apart steel rod and using wire for the ribs, and something small for a cap, and buying is not an option for me, I want to make therm. So any ideas?
Have you considered using brass, plastic, or aluminum tubing, with a judicious application of wire and putty? That would be my first thought.
Unless you have a machine shop, I’d go raid the Evergreen styrene racks at your local hobby shop - you can use thin sheet plastic for the body, thicker for the top and bottom, and some of their half round strips for the ribbing. My thoughts.
How about using wood dowels from hardware stores, they are cheap and come a whole bunch of diameters. Then you can your wiring for the rims.
