SCRATCH BUILT BOMB BAY SECTION OF MY 1:20 SCALE B17G

Good afternoon chaps!

Some of you might remember a few years back that I scratch built the front section of a B17G in 1:20 scale.

Well I made a rather crazy decision to continue down the fuselage and try to build the whole thing!

This was built in the same method and sclae as the front section using the same materials as before.

So after a years work on and off and a lot of heart ache at times…I present to you the B17G bomb bay section…I do hope you like it!

Here is what the B17G looks like so far!..only another 4 sections to go!

I will be starting the radio room section at the end of the year.

Thanks for your time for having a look!:)

Breathtaking is impossibly too small a word here so is talented; viewing your photos must grovel in abject shame from way afar in your presence. Being a mere mortal I must be content building other folk’s plastic & resin creations, you sir walk with the Scratchbuilding Gods.

Await seeing the Radio Cabin section; do expect my long late uncle who’d inhabited it whilst serving in the 568th Squadron, 390th Bomb Group aboard Serials 42-102440 & 42-31114 to appear, gotta ask him how my Mom, his sister, is doing in Heaven right now.

That is amazing!! The attention to detail is outstanding. I really love the plumbing and the wood doors.

What did you use for the exterior skin? How did you make the rivets?

Wow! 10 years ago, I took a flight in the “Liberty Belle” B17 and I sat in the radio room looking forward over the bomb bay and into the cockpit. The photos of the inside of your model look like the real thing! Congratulations!!!

Amazing! Your attention to detail is spot on.

awesome amount of detail
