I have noticed that the other groups , such as armor , A/C , and Ships all have Badges that represent the group they most frequent . What I was wondering is why we don’t have one ? I did notice that Dan ( boybuddho ) has a Sci-Fi badge that looks like this - 
And was wondering if he had no objection to us using it to represent our group as we should take pride in the field we choose to build in , and if nobody likes that badge perhaps we can create another one , So what say you all ???
I have no objection, but I am sure others might want a more appropriate photo/image which I would use as well!

Problem is there’s so many likes and dislikes within sci-fi, we’d all have to agree on something. Maybe steer clear of the obvious Star Trek or Star Wars, maybe something from the Great Space Battles book. My 2 cents.[:)]

Those all look real nice , but we need it smaller I think , but we’re definitly on the right track .
It doesn’t have to be exactly that but something along those lines of a “generic” spacecraft. Those Terran Trade Authority books had quite a few excellent pics in them.

I like those , especially the first one , but again this is for everyone in the Sci-Fi group so evryone needs to agree , well most members do .
Speaking of generic, maybe a basic outline of a UFO or an alien would look nice since those would, more or less, directly be associated as Sci-fi.
I know I don’t get to post much over here since the armor bug bit me but I am PRIMARILY a sci-fi builder at heart. It’s what i cut my teeth on back in the eighties and I still build robots and zoids. How about the Martian tripod from war of the worlds. H.G. Wells practically invented sci-fi. I’m pretty sure everyone could agree on that. I’d say use the pic of the tripod from the old movie (even though technically it wasn’t a tripod but anyway[8)]) with the heat ray firing. it looks reall meanacing and it kicked the tar out of every air craft and tank that came at it in cluding the nuke. The AC and armor guys always have there freindly competition wel, the tripod beats them all. Or the UFO from Independance Day. We need to show that we can kick butt too!LOL

I think a generic or “classic” image would be best. What about the C57-D from Forbidden Planet? That’s about as classic as you can get.

I like the paintings by Boybuddho. I don’t know anything about classic sci-fi except Asimov and he wasn’t too much into starships. I wouldn’t mind the X-Wing with the Death Star in the background.

I think we need something as to what does it really matter at this point ? I like the idea of the X-wing as it’s one of my favs , but some people think differently about it , is there someway we can create a poll or something and take a vote as to what the badge should be ?
How 'bout a “strip” type badge with several, smaller pics. Maybe an X-Wing, an Enterprise, and something of general sci-fi? I thought I saw the aircraft bdage with three pics. Somwthing to please almost everybody. Just a thought.

It looks like all of us have different ideas to incorporate into a badge. Since there are may ideas, why don’t each of us have our own design used to show the variety of scifi subjects? We can all pick a certain size and wording to place on them to link us all together. What do you all think?
