Hi all,
Thought I’d post a few pics of the Schwimmwagen 166 that I’m putting together for the group build. I can’t find to many pictures of the Schwimmwagen in action so I’m kinda forced to use restored vehicle pics for the build.

All,
Thanks!
Ya, the MG stock needs to be darkened down a bit. Any suggestions?? I’m currently using Model Master “Wood”. I was thinking of using more of a brown and lightning it up a bit before I paint it.
it looks great
is it the new tamiya kit?
what grey did you use?
It looks sweet Ryan! I really the grey you used. Semper Fi, mike
[:D] your wagen looks great, i agre on the stock, realy nice build.[:D]
well done in xf-63 german grey
Sweet looking Schwimmwagen. What scale is it? Tiger33
I know there aren’t to many pictures of the Schimmwagen out there, but the ones that I have posted on the Reference forum from the Ordnance Museum are the original paint. Even though time has taken its toll on it, it still looks great for original paint. And by the way great looking build. Bryan
for the stock, I’d try model master burnt umber (i think) can’t remember the number, but use that for a base, then drybrush with burnt sienna. it’ll look real nice if its not overdone.
Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a try.
It’s the Tamiya 1/35th kit. They have a 1/48th now as well and I may try that one after this. The paint color is Model Master Panzer Schwarzgrau #2094 '39-'43.
