Scania crewcab / Overhead maintenance vehicle

Hello
I enjoy building models of construction and special machinery, but such models are not available for purchase. So I used drawings and photographs from the internet and built this model.
This vehicle is designed for the repair of the tram overhead contact system and, as indicated by the markings, is used in the Polish city of Kraków. Scale 1:35.

The cabin and wheels are 3D printed from a Scania G400 model (scale 1:35), but it is a single cabin. I had to make a double cabin using two sets to create the double cabin. I also extended the frame and modified the roof.

The lifting equipment and wire manipulators is made from a plastic ruler, pieces of plastic cards, wire and paper clips.

The device for moving along tram rails was made from plastic and metal washers. I had the idea to create a diorama on the rails but changed my mind. Now I regret that the entire mechanism is hidden under the frame.

For the platform floor, I used veneer from ship models, and the catenary measurement systems is made of plastic and wire. It was interesting to learn that the construction of such platforms uses wood entirely, specifically oak. The platform is attached to the frame through insulators.

I created the decals for the model in Photoshop, and they were printed.

thanks for attention.

That looks fantastic, Vladimir! :+1:

Great work on that vehicle. The attention to detail is evident. I also love the wood work on the platform.

Very impressive work.

A super nice build. You’ve put a lot of detail into it. The wood platform, :ok_hand:. Thanks for posting.

Great looking build. And an interesting vehicle. I wish more subjects like this were available.

Well Done Vladimir. The special type of vehicle you made makes all the work even more impressive.

Very nice

I also print my own decals. It. is not that hard. More modelers should give it a try. Modern decal paper is reliable and easy to work with.
