scale ?

someone told me that o scale is the same as 1/48 models is this true? found some nice items to use as windows and doors but i want them to be in scale.

O scale refers to models built to 1:43 scale, 7 mm:1 foot (1:43.5), 1:45 scale, or 1:48 scale. They may run on three-rail track, but more likely run on more realistic looking two-rail track using direct current. The height and spacing of the rails is not true to scale.

O gauge refers to tracks that are 114 in (32 mm) apart.

However, the two phrases are often also used interchangeably.

When used as a narrow gauge track, O gauge allows scales of 1:32 representing 1 m (3 ft 338 in) gauge track. 1:20 representing 600 mm (1 ft 1112

[soapbox] AHHHHH, not math!! i hate that subject! i think i forgot all basic math from school. now i know where to to turn to if i need some conversions [:D]

The short answer is, yes, you can use O scale accessories with 1/48th scale miniatures. Variations in sizes of door and window frames are common – much more so in the past – so if the part itself scales out to 1/43rd, it’s still in the realm of possibilities.

thanks all for the answers.
