scale size's

can anyone tell me is 120mm the same as 1/35

1/35 is 54mm; 120mm is more like 1/15.

thank’s Domi i thought so but wasnt sure Tom

I’ve seen reference to ‘mm’ before and I really have no idea what it means or how it’s determined? I understand the ‘ratio’ scales (ie. 1/35), but not the ‘mm’ ones? Can anyone give me a quick lesson in how these came about?

mm stands for millimeter. It’s a metric system unit equal to a 1/1000 of a meter (so approx 1/1000 of a yard)

54mm in figures is supposed to represent the distance in scale from the base of the foot to the eye, but we all know that diffeent manufacturers have different views on that! But then, people are not all 6ft tall…!

Ah! Foot-to-eye measurement. I get it now…
