Does anyone know where to locate scale anchor chain for 1/400-1/500 scale carriers? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Try your local hobby shop, model ship mail order site, dolls house supplier or doll/miniture store and if all that fails the junk jewlery counter in the local dime store,K Mart etc

I get mine from the local ‘cheapo’ jewlery supplier in the local mall, he has one of those overgrown pushcarts…
I get the ‘Silver’ at $3.50 a foot…and it matches perfectly.

I built a 1/350 Tamiya Bismarck 20 years ago, that I still display proudly today. At the time, I took a think gold chain, painted it “steel”, and put it on the model. It still looks great.
To this day, my Sister wonders what ever happened to her gold ankle chain.[;)]
I get mine from Micro mark www.micromark.com
Since we’re talking anchor chain here I have a question that I think was discussed a while back. What would be the correct number of links per inch when working in 1/350???
Depends on the size of the ship. I typically use 12 links per inch on DDs, 10 on CL and some CA, and 8 on BB and CV.
Jeff
Thanks,
I would have been going much too small.
Jeff,
Maybe I’m missing something here, but I’m currently using 22-24 links per inch on a 1/350 Missouri I’m assembling. This size scales well with current reference photos. 8 links per inch would be HUGE for this scale. Am I off in left field somehow?

Nope, sorry, I’m out in left field.
I’ve been thinking 1/192 all along. MY BAD.
Jeff
Jeff,
Everything’s OK. I’ll meet you in center field. ![]()
