Thad - I said it in the Midway GB but looks great! was gonna ask the paint type but got it… the paint went down nice and smooth!!! maybe we will have to do that SBD GB in winter after all? Up for it?

Crockett - check out the last 10 or so pages of the Battle of Midway GB there about 4 of the SBD’s completed there. Also throughout the GB there are a lot of tips and hints of problem areas in the kit which are VERY few!!! (the only big one that seems to catch a lot of people is the rear lower wing root)

Crockett - I have to tell you Im not a big SBD fan but with the guys from the GB and the kit it self this was a fun build.

Tom- I did not put a pic of the under side because I have one spot where my a/b burped and I got a splatter on her. If you twist my arm hard enough I guess I will see you in the SBD build, I have a SBD 3 that need to be done.

Great job, Thad. I picked up the SBD2 (looks like on you built?) at a 50% off sale, and I can’t wait to see it. I wasn’t the biggest Dauntless fan either, but I watched Midway a few weeks back with my Dad and I guess Charlton Heston got me fired up enough to buy the kit.
THanks for sharing the pics and the info on the GB. I can use all the tips that are out there.
