Looking at Accurate Miniatures SBD-3 Dauntless, which I’m planning to buy, I don’t find any detail sets that’s made for this particular kit.
Wher can I find suitable detailing sets??
Can I use Verlinden’s?
If not, anyone that you can recommend??
What decals can I use for the numbers that they used in USN and USMC from WWII?
This is Verlindens detail set which can be used on the -1,-2,-3 and -4. It is number 1378 in the catalog and retails for about $35.00 U.S.
Darren
You might want to wait until you get the kit as it is actually quite surprising how well detailed the kit already is…although if you want to show off the engine as Darren has shown in his pic-- then I’d grab up Mr. Verlinden’s set.
Cheers Gentlemen!
I thought that you could only use the Verlinden set with Hasegawa’s SBD’s, am I wrong?
I’m just waiting for the kit show up at my doorstep now, and I’ve decided to build as S-10 flown by Stanley W. Vejtasa and Radioman 3rd class Frank B Wood from May 8th 1942 based on USS Yorktown CV-5 and the Battle Of the Coral Sea.
The question is where can I find the proper decals for this SBD, any recommendations guys? Who has the best selection of decals for USN and USMC S, B and T aircraft codes from WWII?
