I wanted to try my hand at a greyscale piece…so I scratch built a wall and on one side was a WWII SAS scene using the old Tamiya Chevy LRDG kit…and the other side was a modern day Technical in Libya using the Meng Pickup kit. Was challenging but I had a blast…
This scene is incredible! I love the B&W scene from WWII which contrasts so well with the modern colorful scene. Very creative idea.
Greyscale presents a very unique challenge which always intrigues me. I have dabbled with it a few times, but it always went back to the paint stripper. Looks like you managed it fairly well. ![]()
Also really like the green hood on the technical, one replaced panel seems reasonable, some models end up looking too “patchwork”. Good job.
Thanks guys…I enjoy stretching out my creative thoughts into some of the models I do and this one certainly qualified.
Very interesting concept. You did a very fine job.
Thank you…I like out of the ordinary builds to challenge myself now and again.
Just came across this today- I did a scene like this myself with just figs. It is a testament to your skill to
have done a full vehicle in greyscale too. Not to mention three figures- I did two in greyscale and was mighty glad to break out some colors that were not grey once I was done! Really awesome and inspiring work you have done there.
Thank you Karl- it was a challenge to be sure, but when i come up with an idea like this that has an out of the ordinary feature, it brings me much enjoyment and excitement to take on.
What a creative idea and excellent execution!
