SALT WEATHERING HELP..

Hello,

I’m trying to slat weather on my 1/35 Panzer and having some issues. My questions is, does this technique work with enamel paint ( ModelMasters) or do I need to switch to acrylics? Here is my process.

  1. Enamel primer

  2. Enamel base ( Panzer gray)

  3. Either hairspray or water to attach the salt. I’ve tried both

  4. Enamel top color Panzer Dunkelgelb '43

Is this correct?

I really think that the top layer over the salt needs to be acrylic.

I’ve tried enamel–hairspray–enamel and had to really work at getting the top enamel layer off. I finally got enough of it off but had to really scrub.

It should be acrylic. Enamel is too tough

Use acrylic.

Salt is water-soluble. So is acrylic. Makes the whole process easier.
