Anyway, this is obviously Trumpeter’s 1/35 SA-2 missile, which is just a few touches of weathering away from completion. As this was my first ever 1/35 scale kit I’d be very happy if anybody had any comments or feedback.
Very nice looking build. I’m impressed with the decal/data application on the missle. Lots of fine print and stripes you did there. Keeping that much straight isn’t easy, so congradulations on that. Personally, I don’t like decal applications, so I admire a person who can do what you did with your model. Again, nice work!
Looks nice and clean. The decal work on the missle is fantastic. I’d probably apply another light-gray wash to the missle. That particular kit, IIRC, has lots of nice panel lines, bolts, and rivets all over the body of the rocket.
HEY!!! I got that kit in 1/72 scale. I built the entire thing, but only got to paint the launcher. Still trying to get it right. I need to clean the build on the missile before I get to paint it. The kit did bring all those decals and i was wondering if it would be worth it. I see this one and it looks great. I’ll just have to see if the smaller scale will even compare. Thanks for the inspiration BGuy!!!
That looks awesome fella. Really nice work. Any chance of having a comparative size shot with something else you have in the same scale. Id like to see just how big these suckers were.
Thanks for all the rave reviews–I certainly didn’t expect such positive responses. Tonight I’ll try getting in some pics of the model, a size comparision (even though it’s the only thing I have built in 1/35) and a larger shot of the (new) display case I have for the 1-5% of my projects that I’m actually proud of.
