Ryan Newman Dodge Intrepid R/T

I bought this kit probably back in 2000 when Alltel became one of our big clients - got stuck figuring out how to paint it and it sat on the shelf for 18 years - now that I think of it this could go in the shelf of doom GB. The paint is far from perfect but she’s done. Cool car. It’s a really nice kit that goes together well. the cage has really positive locators. The body is extremely thick plastic - I think there was a screw together version of this perahps.

This is Revell’s 1/24 #12 Alltell Dodge intrepid R/T OOB

I photocopied the decals and realized I could undercut the photocopy paper decal and use it like a soft mask as the decal edge would clean it up later. I made a slight misjudgment and had a bit of overspray- which I now refer to as tire dust lol

Still struggling to get a smooth coat with the ‘new’ future

Anyway - another one for the shelf

Very nice, indeed, that is a hard scheme to pull off. I always wanted to build Sterling Marlin’s Coors car as I don’t have a Dodge in the group, but never got around to it.

Love it! I am a big Newman fan, from back in the days he drove midgets.

Lately I am picking up all the new Revell NASCAR kits I can find. The new ones are fine kits, unlike the snaptites they put out a few years ago. I suspect the prices will soar on those kits.

Wow has it really been 18 years? Man I’m feeling old LOL. Great job on the tough masking, I think it turned out really well. I have given up on the future clear. Only thing I use it for now is dipping clear parts. Last few builds I didnt use any clear on them. I’m seeing lots of folks now using 2 part Urethane clears that I may look into using on my next build, just gotta figure out what brand to get.
