I am working on an Eduard I-16 and was wonmder about the cockpit anbd wheel well oclors. This is only the 2nd Russin plane for me sio I am not sure if the color call outs on instruction sheet are right. Gray cockpit wall, green floor and seat and everything on the bottom is blue… wells, struts, underside… the works.
I’ve got a trumpeter mig-21 on my desk, the box art has an actual picture of the cockpit and it looks a vivid sky blue,my intructions called for light ( a very light pea green) green landing gear w/ wheelwells the same color blue as the cockpit.all this may not help but its a second point of reference,a third comfirmation will make it fact.good luck and happy modelling.
Marc, have a look at these:
I build this little Rata a while ago. According to the instructions the whell wells hubs and struts all should be the same as the underside color. It looks like the pictures verify this.

Thanks for the responses. Great pics Mark. I remembered someone with the same name as me finishing one of these but could not remember your handle. I just went back and found your finished pics thread. Your warning about the fit issues is going to be very handy 'cause guess where I am in the build[;)]
Yeah, we were gonna have a I-16 group build, only open to people named Mark/Marc!
Well, I will guess you’re ready to join the cowl to the fuselage. Yeah, you’ll need to tighten that raised front ring diameter so the cowl fits over it. I suggest sanding equally a little off the mating surfaces on both the fuse assembly and the bottom wing, at the engine faring. It’s what I would have done if I caught the problem earlier!
If that GB ever comes to reality, I’ll change my name to Mark and join. I’ve got the Eduard Royal Class offering that has been in my mind lately…
Mucker you are qualified for the build… my middle name is Charles[:D]

Yessss! (pumping arm). I’m in.
While it’s pure coincidence about your middle name, I just tell people that I’m “well connected in the modelling world”.
You’re probably too far along in the I-16, but my next planned build is a Yak-1b. If there was any VVS GB interest I’m sure we could twist a few arms…
I have a Yak-in-the box! (I can hear the groans from here[:D])
We should do another Red Star GB late in the year.

Actually, I think I am going to need a little spreader in there to remove a step I am getting behind the cowl.
I’d be up for that, since my name is Mike (so I have two of the four letters required [;)] ). The only question would be which kit to commit to it…my Eduard 1/72 Il-2 Profipack or my 1/32 Trumpeter MiG-21 mf. [:D]

Sorry, I should have said “reduce”, rather than “tighten”. “Tighten” might have implied there was a loose fit, and as you probably already well know, it’s anything but!
