Russian Armor (KV1B)??????

Hey, I was looking back for about 22 pages and I cant find anything on Russian armor green, can someone tell me the aproximate color and if I should have to mix paints or not and things like taht. thanks.

I’ve always used Tamiya XF-61 Dark Green for Soviet tank builds.

hmmm… is that the J.N. Green one??? if so, I thought about that but I said no, cause its way to dark

Nope … not the Japanese Navy one. It’s the same colourr I use for Commonwealth vehicles, and yes it is a dark green, but that can be toned down through weathering.

I just did my KV85 in Testor’s Acryl Russian armor green. Then I oversprayed it with medium green, I’m very pleased with the affect.

you can always try gunzesangyo ija green

For early T-34’s you would want to use Humbroul 114. It is russian green. if you have it, knock yourself out. if you dont… I’m not sure where you can get it (sorrey).

For late T-34’s and IS-2’s etc I followed Cookie seewell article at FSM. He suggests to use RLM 80 (Maybe I’m wrong? I dont remmember exactly right now, but I’ll check it out) Schwarzgrun - Black green. However I used it only as a base coat and highlighted it more with a lighter green.
I hope I will be able to show pictures of my latest IS-2.
I’m sure the gang here will also provide you with good info.

Arghhh! I’m so tired I did’nt see you were talking about KV-1B…
I would suggest you to follow Cookie’s recomendation, and forget about (somthing I wrote) early t-34’s…

I was under the impression that the Russians would use whatever paint was available to paint their tanks, so the actual colour on the tanks from different production locations could vary.
