Roman Centurion - Gaul 1 AD

Hi there,
This was a club thing whereby each member got a basic bust ( head and shoulders ) and had to come up with something different. I decided to convert the bust into a Roman Centurion in Gaul circa 1 A.D. The uniform was made with epoxy putty and the helmet with brass shimstock. The feathers are ostrich feathers trimmed to fit. The face was painted in oils.

I hope it works now.

Sorry Tappie,

got the white box with the red x barbarian. Check the links and give it another shot. I’m dying to see this.

Mike

I got the dreaded red x as well, check and repost the link, I really want to see this!

I also get the red x but the picture appears when I refresh the screen. I’ll try to upload in another way.

I tried refreshing twice, and I still get the red x.

Thats excellent! but the guy looks like he dosnt get very much sleep lol but other than that good work

Did I forget to mention that the local apothecary was out of prozac? Just kidding, I agree with you on the insomniac look. It was an attempt to give him a battle weary look. I think Asterix and Obelix had something to do with that. The horse hair once belonged to a blonde Barbie doll that I scrounged from my daughter.
Thanks for the comments.

Excellent job on the transformation, Tappie…
The helmet and chest armor is well done!

Regards, Dan

wow! good job tappie!!!

Even though I don’t do the figure thing I must say great job, still like looking at them.

Well done Tappie !!

Good to see more figures starting to be displayed around here.

he reminds me of that one jerk on Gladiator that murdered his father to become emperor lol still that is an excellent job.

Well done Tappie,

Im still trying to get the eyes on my figures right.

Might try and post the picture of a roman that I did a few years ago.

hey Tappie, even without considering this wasn’t a complete kit and involved some individual conversion, I think you did an excellent job. Regarding the eyes, not sure if its just an misplaced pixel, but his right iris does seem to be larger than the other. Generally I don’t think the eyes here are too big or incorrectly shaped - just the white is too stark. So try a light wash of pink/brown and see if that helps eliminate that little problem.

Jack

Thanks Jack, I’ll try it and then post new pic’s.
Thanks for all the comments.
