Rolling PE parts?

I need to put a gentle curve in some PE parts, but wonder should I aneal them first?

Any ideas?

Might make them warp or brittle I use a size 12 knitting needle Kaths given up what bit are you attempting to bend?

I’ve always used a piece of wood doweling to get my PE to curve.
I’ve never anealed them before doing this and have had no problems.

What I’m trying to bend are the interior panels of a 1/72 Fw190’s landing flaps. So the whole this is only about 30mm long, by about 8mm.

It just needs a slight curve, and I’d read that anealing was supposed to make metal less springy, and therefore easier to bend.

Think I’ll just go with a length of thin dowl on a soft mat.

Micheal, I know that feeling.

I’ve lost far too many of Eduard’s fine creations to the floor.

At least in my case it’s a nice flat laminate floor, and I’m well practised with the torch hunting technique!!!

I don’t think that you should aneal the PE part since they are thin enough to bend easily. I use the round end of my file which is about 4mm to roll the PE part. I do it on the cutting mat which is a bit soft & makes rolling the part to it’s desired size easier. I’ve done this on the PE exhaust pipe guard of the Italeri LAV-25 & it worked just great. [:D]
