Rocon 2016 Aircraft (Pic Heavy)

Hello all,

Last Sunday was our club’s annual show in Rochester, NY. It draws quite a few modellers from the surrounding cities of Buffalo, Syracuse, and even some from the Great Canadian North. I thought I’d post pics of some of the work that was on display.

Let me qualify this by saying that I didn’t catch everything - my camera battery died before my desire to photograph did. I got home and looked through the photo’s and found a few examples of: “Doh ! - I didn’t get a pic of John Smith’s F5.5F-U3 Grumman Alley Cat ! or Jane White’s 1/288 scale Fairey Fire Lemming”.

I’ll start with the Aircraft that took it all . . . This Eindecker took 1st in the biplane/rigged A/C catergory, Best A/C, and Overall Best in Show. The picture doesn’t do it justice - it was very impressive.

And in no order at all . . . here are all the rest of the aircraft pictures from the day . . .

This was my personal favorite - Taking a somewhat plain Olive Drab scheme and really making it impressive ! 1/48 P-40N

Yeah - 1/72 scale - that’s what I’m talkin’ 'bout !

I am F-4 . . Hear Me Roar !

Another 1/72 gem

1/48’s

Back to 1/72 - you kiddin me ?!!!

Diorama with lit IP, lit engine internals, and soundtrack ! Sweet !

1/72 (I’m biased - I admit it !)

A collection of FW 190-A’s

Close Enuf !

That’s All Folks !

Wow, those are some beautiful models, thanks for sharing!!!

Every time I go to a show I’m half inspired and half intimidated by stuff of this quality.

Great pictures Chris! You’re right that they don’t do them justice though. The detail in those 1/72 builds is just outstanding. My goal for this year is to turn out a build that I can enter at ROCON next year and not be completly embarrassed[:$]

Beautiful work

NICE! Those are some incredible looking builds Chris. I have always wanted to go to a show but I live 2 hours away from the nearest modeling club, which is in P’cola, FL. I would enjoy seeing those in person. Thanks for sharing.

Those are some beautiful models! Our show “Nordiccon” is in 4 weeks, So I’m really busy trying to finish things!

John

Thank you for sharing that with us! It’s very inspirational, what fantastic work!
