rivet-making tool

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know where I can find a tool that embosses realistic rivets on a/c? There is something called “Rosie the Riveter” out of the Czech Republic, but I am not able to get to their website. This is something like the gear of a watch held between two fasteners at the end of a handle, allowing rivets to be applied in a rotary maner, and I know I’ve seen them elsewhere. (Just can’t remeber where or when).

As always any help appreciated. Take care,

Mark

Try this: dousekp@quick.cz

Let us know if/how this works.

EDITED: This is an e-mail address — not a web site. Shoot him a note and see what he has to say. I saw a posting on another forum that had a picture of one of his packages. It looked like he makes several different rivet makers — 1/72 & 1/48 plus different rivet sizes and spacings?

Hey Jim:

Thanks a lot for the info. I had this link, too, but I think it’s an email address rather than a webpage. I could try emailing them, but the language difference may be a problem. Also, I suspect mailing from the Czech Republic to be fairly expensive.

Anyone know of other sources? I could almost swear I saw this tool in Finecale Modeler at some point.

Thanks,

Mark

Hello Mark,

You could look at this article is has a lot of helpful ideas on riviting tools and extra links on the page.

I think you need something called a ponce wheel. It’s a little tool that has a handle and a small wheel with a series of teeth that you roll the rivets on following a straight edge.
Don’t know where you can get one though, sorry

Thom and Jerry (hmmm…)[:)],

Thank you guys. The article is very useful. I think that’s it: the old ponce wheel!

Take care, guys.

Try your local fabric shop and ask about a dress maker’s pattern wheel. They come in different sizes and have a handle and wheel with small teeth for tracing patterns on cloth. Running this “thing” over plastic would leave a series of small, equally spaced indentations. The size and spacing would vary with the suject and scale.

Pounce wheel… it’s a tool traditionally used to transfer designs to fabric or other material. Basically a rotating wheel with little teeth on it that make indentations in the plastic. Micromark do them for the US residents amongst us.

Yup, found the pounce wheel. I’ll check the fabric shop for different sizes.

Thanks fellas.
