Revell's new Famo 18T (1/72 Scale)

I just returned from the lhs (Hornet Hobbies In Toronto). I am now the proud owner of a Famo. Wow this model looks great. I was going to buy a resin Famo last christmas along with the tank trailer. Instead i did that very very hard thing and waited. I did buy the trailer though.

In looking at the revell model I am sure glad I waited. very detailed suspension, lots of non slip engraving on the floor. Even the cage round the spare wheel is there. Along a sheet of clear plastic to make the windscreen (no out of scale moulded plastic). Oh and tow bars for whatever favorite vehicle you want to put in that diorama you been aching to make. All in all short of shelling out very big bucks on a Resin or going to 1/35 and even bigger buck’s this is the nicest model to come along in ages.
Only things i can find to criticise is that the tires are very nicely molded nice tread pattern, which should have been molded in one peice not two. But thats being picky. hrmmm really stretching for that one.

I know it’s not entirely new news but still it’s great news to us braile scalers One72. How much was it?

I think its around 11 dollars on greatmodels. and yes, great news to us 1/72 builders.
I have couple of questions about this kit though,

  1. can you tell us about the tracks, I am guessing the link and lengths?
  2. what markings come with it?

Up here in the great white North it was $18. Thats about 13 or 14 USD I beleive but that was at the lhs.
The tracks are link and length, very well detailed.
Two sets of marking are supplied for the eastern front.
11 Panzer division 1941 Standard Panzer grey
The other is a 1943 machine Sturmgeschutz - lehbatterie 901 in grey with winter whitewash.

Going to have to scratchbuild some tools and fuel drums I think for that space at the back.

thanks!
you know academy makes some 1/72 jerry cans, fuel drums and wooden crates tight!!! Its in their WWII ground vehicels set. O great, now I want another kit only, I want 3 of them for a tiger dio!
