Revell's 1/25th 41 Willys(New Tooled)

This is Revells 1/25th newly tooled 41 Willys built out of the box.
For the body, I used Tamiya’s NATO black as a primer and for the hood, a faded pale yellow sanded down to bare metal in sections which was achieved by using Alclads dura aluminum.
For the chrome on the motor, I used Alclads chrome over Tamiya’s black as a base coat.
This was definitely a fun build as I wanted to portray a car built in the 60s for the track and the kid spent money on the motor and the rest was well, left as you see it.
Being pretty doesn’t make you go faster that’s fer sure!

Nice touch on the hood!!!

Thank ya Chris, I think so too! It looks way better in person as the camera does not like metal finishes lol.
I was going to add skme brown tones but got carried away with the metal appearance lol

Nice job, can see it as you described it. That nato black looks like a smooth primer. You don’t need shiney paint for a 1/4 mile run, that’s for sure

Thank you Nuc! After I sprayed the NATO black, I sorta buffed the paint out with paper towels.
Exactly, it doesn’t have to be pretty to be fast!

Nice looking kit, just might have to pick this up and rat rod it!

It’s a really nice kit with some good details. The building/construction process is straight forward.
It definitely beats their original Willys from the mid 60s.
