revell u-boat VII c 1/72 done lot's of pic.

hi mates really loved building this one [;)] mainly out the box build just drilled all the holes and cut the antenna in pieces and made a new one with micro filament 0.10mm fishingline also used almost two boxes of revell 1/72 german naval crew, hope you like it [:p]

Luc.

Looks great Luc.
Question on the figures. Are they the soft plastic like the old Airfix figs or are they hard? If soft, what did you use to paint them?

I have the same set of figures awaiting embarkation on my 1/72 U Boat when I get round to building her!

Yep, the figures are made from a soft polythene-type plastic.

That is what I thought but the build ups I have seen look really good. Do they have much flash?

Very nice looking boat. Love the display w/ photo. Great looking figures too.

The insulators are especially nice. Those little details really put the realism into a model.

Thanks for sharing.

Jess

thanks fellas for replying [;)] as for the figs. they are soft plastic [xx(] no flash just thin moldseems on the arms and legs. just give them a good wash in warm water with washingup liquid and gave them a cover first with matt clear them painted with acrillycs paint and when done gave them another coating with matt varnish (with enamels the paint started to crack [:(!])

Maffen,

You did a brilliant job with your effort…the paint and detailing are very authentic and brings the subject to life. Hope you get a lot of compliments on your project. Great photos too…

Take care,
Tank

Luc,

Very nice U-boat you’ve got there!! I like the subtle weathering job. It seems just right and not overdone like you often see.

Jeff

Maffen, what did you use to paint the deck? I use oil paints to paint mine, because it’s organic, I can get more sublties. But, I really like the way yours looks too.

Thanks,

Jess

Wow, looks great! All the little details go together to make a terrific showpiece!

Maffen,
You have got the juice. Das Unterseeboot looks ready to put a fish through a convoy escort and i like the extra details right down to the deck gun tie-down. Sweet work … but then you Belgians make that wickedly good chocolate, too …

That is one beutiful boat, thanks for all the great pics.

Wow, that is a beautiful U.
Great build.

Beautiful boat!

Nice OOB model. Maybe you might inspire me to build one since I am not real keen on spending a large amount of money on it. The figures really make the model personal.
