Revell Monogram's 1/32 Bf-109G-4 Trop... Any good?

It’s on sale at Squadron from $36.08 to $11.99. Pretty cheap for a 1/32 and I love the 109, but it’s Revell. Anyone done this kit before and have an opinion? Thanks

Dave

I think it may be the Hasegawa rebox it’s a very nice little kit.

In my opinion, I’m always real leary about Revell’s stuff. However, for that price, you can’t beat it.

It’s a rebox of the Hasegawa kit at a bargain price. Great kit, go for it.

Well… it’s says it’s on sale in my Squadron catalog I received today. But it doesn’t show the sale price on the website. Anyone know how to get the sale price from squadron?

TryintoModel – if it’s on sale in the Squadron catalog, you’ll be charged the sale price on the site, even if it’s not listed. Look under the “policies” section of the site for this info . . . .

it is a real nice kit

Having built the kit last year I will say that it is a re-box of the hasa kit and as such is a really great kit. At that price it is an absolute steal!! go for it!!

Here is a pic

As ewerybody said … it is great kit! Im building that plane almost a year ( just waiting to find some time for it ) and price is really cheap

Thanks for the info, guys. I was looking at that one, too, and decided to buy one after reading the glowing reviews. I also went for the Czech models Me-309 and XP-56 also on sale. I have a soft spot in my heart for experimental fighters. Unfortunately, my collection of unbuilt aircraft is growing exponentially faster than those I have built!

Aint that the truth [:(].

Cool, I ordered the whole kit and even threw in the Eduard PE set to go with it. This will be my first try with PE, it should be interesting.

what p/e set did you get

i could not find one for the 109g-4

only the g-6 model

and that is for the newer hasegawa

Could you tell me if the Revell’s rebox of the 1/32 Fw-190F-8 from Hasegawa stands up as well as their Bf-109G-4 Trop?

RE: RoG 1/32 Fw-190F-8

While it can be built up into a good kit, I was dissapointed in this one. Raised panel lines all around, the radio compartment access panel was a raised panel on the fusalage side, very basic cockpit detail. I will say that the BMW 801 engine that is included is pretty good and begs for a bit of detailing, so if you arent looking for a big shake n bake kit I guess that this one would be ok. I rescribed all the major panel lines and was able to salvage an ok build, but then that kit was the very first that I built after comming back to the hobby after a very long break.

Unfortunately, I left the catalog at home (workin out of town this week), so I’m not positive, but I swear that it was the PE set for the Revell Monogram 1/32 G-4 kit. If you have the new Squadron catalog, look on page 2, in the Eduard box just above the picture of the Revell Monogram 1/32 Bf-109G-4 thats on sale.

Dave

i found it in the catalog[oops]

i had gone for a search on their site typing

in bf-109 and it did not come up with that set it came up with others

but looking in the catalog i found it

sorry if i got you worried[:I]

now did you order the interior or the exterior p/e set

they have both

I got the interior set. I didn’t know what the exterior set would have, but I really wanted the seat belts, if nothing else. I’m interested to see what I get.

On a side note: My checking account shows and initial authorization for the full price of the 109 kit… I hope that is rectified before the actual charge goes through.

Well, I got the kit in the mail today. It’s looks great! Can’t wait to start that one.

Weird thing is that the payment still hasn’t fully cleared my checking account. It still shows up in the authorization section (I used a checking account credit card) with the full price, not the sale price. I’m surprised I got the model before the sale has fully gone through.

now that is wierd
