Revell Monogram good?

when I was browsing the aisles of the Michael’s craft store, I found an F-15E by
Revell Monogram, I saw that it had recessed panel lines!!![party][:D]
if Revell Monogram keeps this up, it’s gonna come right next to accu miniatures.
recessed and very detailed cockpit!
unless this F-15E kit is by some other company and RM repackaged it, I’m buying that kit![:D]

The kit’s been out since 1999-2000 and tradtionally Monogram (now Revell-Monogram) had a good reputation for quality 1/48 scale aircraft. Many of their ancient kits still hold up well like the P-51B and P-40. Their large WW2 (B-17, B-24) bombers are still in demand as well. There are some dogs in the pack too, but most of their kits like jet fighters are some of the best around.

And their Nascar kits are the best of the bunch.

If you find a Monogram Pro Modeler kit they are pretty good, most if not all are Hasegawa reboxes at half the price!

As far as Revell approaching AM, they have a long way to go but there are some decent kits… their P-51D for example lacks interior detail but looks good once put together…

are the promodelers the prepainted ones?

No. The ProModeller series was a more complex, for lack of a better word, line.
Some came with photoetch and others came with different sprues to build up a slightly different version.
While it is true that some of the PM kits were re-boxes of other company’s kit, that is not the case in respect to all of them.
The He111, Me410, Helldiver, B-25, B-17, PBY-5A, P-51B, P-39 and I believe the Me110 were all Monogram molds.

The prepainted kits were part of the ProFinish line.

ohh… which aircraft kits have the “extras” such as tractors and stuff?
my black widow came with 3 figs and 1 or 2 oil drums

Revell-Monogram are some good kits. The old stuff from Monogram was and is some excellent kits. They use to put some added stuff with or extra details like removible engines ect…If you can find these kit under the old Monogram label, snatch them they are worth the money.I will say this Revell-Monogram of today is getting better in there details.I just wish that Revell would put interiors into some of there big planes like Monogram did.Digger
