Revell Mi-24 Hind

Posted this in the chopper forum and figured Id do it here too. Dont usually build helos but have 4 or 5 in the stash. Built OOB, nuttin special…thanks for looking!

Just realized I forgot to attach the probe on the front of the canopy…oh well, I`ll do it now…lol!

Heh…dont ask me why my narrative is between these pics...didnt plan it that way…lol…[bnghead]

Hey Len, your Hind looks really good! I got the same kit for Christmas but haven’t decided when to start building it. I’ve got too much going all ready. Did you have any trouble with it?

The only thing I would point out is that I believe the interior is sort of a light blue, but I could be wrong. Either way, looks good to me!

Hey Jon!

Pretty straight forward build…not much trouble other than the usual stuff…BUT, had to cut a notch in the rear part of the canopy to get it to sit right…you`ll see what I mean when you build yours.

I painted the interior per the instructions…calls for dark grey…knew it was wrong…shoulda been that crazy blue-green I saw on reference photos…I kinda lost interest 3/4 of the way through and forced myself to finish. Ive been doing that alot lately...might need to take a break! Hows that Tornado coming? That suckers too small for me…lol.

Len

Good to know its not much trouble, the Tornado has given me about as much trouble as I can stand for the next couple of months. I haven’t touched it in a little while because every thing about it was making me mad. Poor fit for the most part so lots of putty was in order, and of course, lots of sanding. It’ll get done in time for the GB to close though.

I’m hesitant to start the Hind because I’ve never really done a chopper before and the Hind looks a little complex so its sitting back in the line up right now.

Aw…cmon now...its a Revell kit…how hard could it be? [:D] I have Academys CH 46, CH-53 Super Stallion, Revell Jolly Green Giant and Revell of Germanys AH-1F Cobra. The Academy kits are a little scary…lots o parts. Oh yeah, almost forgot, just picked up a 1:72 scale Sikorski Skycrane at Michaels...50% off coupon...more helos than Id ever think of building. Built the skycrane as a kid so I had to get it again...exactly the same kit from the early 80s.The box has an SSP logo…Selected Subjects Project…(?) Guess theyre diggin up some golden oldie molds…lol

Well… It IS a Skill-Level TWO kit, ain’t it TM? Those’re aimed at 10 year olds ya know…[;)]

Thats about right for me...anyways, Im not the one saying it looks hard…right Jon…lol.

Hurray, I enjoy a good ribbing every now and then. A helicopter is an assembly process I’m not used to, and for a Revell kit, it has a lot of parts and detail…same could be said for the F-84 I got as well. It just wasn’t something I was willing to dive into at the moment with other stuff on the bench. Never said it looked ‘hard’, just ‘complex’. There is a difference. [8-|]

My bad…chicken boy…[proplr]
