Not super detailing/wiring, but spending a bit of time Alclading (is that a word?)
Had some pretty big orange peal in the back floor board, but it won’t be seen so moving on. Making good progress now

I’ve got the same kit…toying with the idea of doing a ‘faux conversion’ (appearance only) to the police-marked Defender 110, from the BBC crime series ‘Death in Paradise’…so I’ll be following along with great interest. Your work so far looks top-notch.

Thanks Greg. Sounds like a fun project. My suggestions are to decide left/right hand drive and your seating choices. There are lot’s of options on this beautiful kit, but review the instructions and mark what you plan on doing. Will make things go smoother.

If I were you,I think I would choose the right-hand driving.After all,Land Rover is based in England!
So confusing. I assumed right hand drive was uk, which I chose. Am I mistaken?
Oh,my mistake[:P]I wasn’t even thinking when I entered the reply.I fixed the typo.
Are the yellow 4 wheel drive selector handle and the red hi-low range selector handles located on the left side of the transmission tunnel? If so, that is incorrect as both are located on the right side of the tunnel on RHD and LHD trucks. The yellow selector is on the side of the tunnel while the red selector is on the floor. These levers have the same shape for both RHD and LHD while the transmission gear shift lever is bent a bit differently. The parking brake lever is on the face of the seatbox on both but to the right of the tunnel on a RHD truck and to the left on a LHD truck. When fitted, the overdrive lever is on the right side of the tunnel near the seatbox.
These are the selectors on one of our 109s.

Sounds like Revell made a mistake then because there are two tunnels and the selector/shift sit opposite for LHD vs RHD. Thanks for the details Bob - I think I’m to far down the road to fix it now.
I guess they figured everything flipped to the other side. I’ll take a look at the kit when I can. I’d been converting Esci’s three door 109 into a five door but stopped with Revell’s ready made version.

Great job! Love the color scheme and just the right amount of weathering. Came out of a night class once and saw a guy cranking one like they used to with Model Ts. I have loved Land Rovers ever since.

Had a friend with one, an 88" wheelbase model. We had a guy try to sell us magnetic door labels for advertising . . . we just laughed! For some odd reason he could not get them to stay in place . . . Again, we laughed and laughed!!
Nice job. But if you incorporate it into a dio, don’t forget the small puddle underneath. Like Brit bikes and Harleys and large dogs, Rovers like to mark their spot.
Brilliant keavdog. I wish they had made a short wheelbase version. Our eldest son passed his test donkeys years ago and one of his first vehicles was the short wheelbase version just with canvas top and sides and a lightweight that was used my the army for paraschute drops. Rattle or what, especially with heavy duty chunky tyres.
It really came to life with the amazing weathering. That was a smart move. Excellent work. The clean build is nice but the dirty one just brings it to another level.
Thanks for the kind words all. After looking at it I realized I had the mirrors in wrong (unusable) spot [00ps] Fixed and just need to do a bit of touchup.

Thanks Mike - my first time weathering car model. I usually go for showroom clean, but this one just felt like it need a little muck.
