I’m continuing my theme on aircooled engined cars. I’ve built six various VW aircooled beach buggies so this is slightly different, although it still has only two seats, no roof and cut down glass…
Although the body comes in six pieces you can’t finish the car sides until the body is on the chassis.
The rattle can paint in Metallic Blue and Clear gloss is by Plasti-Kote and car polish by Autoglym.

That is a really cool looking build you’ve got there!! Ugh I am not a fan of bodie’s that have to be mounted onto the chassis in order for the remainder of the body parts to be added!

Thanks guys, it says in the info on the instruction sheet that it was an actual VW based kit car of that time, like the Meyers Manx and the Empi Imp, but I’ve searched the internerd and found no leads.
No I’m not normally keen on the multi piece bodies Butz, but I’ve just opened up my next build, which is the Matchbox Porsche 356 Speedster Racer and the body is the same, with the side panels being fitted after the main body is fitted to the chassis!

I saw your latest posting in regards to the Porsche build. Maybe it’s just me but I can not see getting a good even coat of paint and more so to match tones with a two piece body…
However lightly taking the pieces together onto the main chassis to paint I can see but for me is an accident waiting to happen lol

nice to see one of this kit built up. interesting design.
the multipiece Futura body is like that, but i assembled it, then cut out the bottom parts to allow the chassis to be installed at a later stage. I cut out the chassis and added styrene lips to help it go together more easily.
Oh bummer…I was expecting to see the “Clint Eastwood” Gran Turismo car, lol…
